At Horan & McConaty, our job isn’t finished once the funeral is over. After all, the funeral or memorial service is only the first step in the grieving process. However, the days, weeks and months following the service are often the most difficult times for those mourning a loss. This is when surviving family members and caregivers will need to lean on others for grief support, encouragement and guidance. That’s why we offer compassionate support after the services.
Jenn Flaum, LCSW, MBA, our Director of Community Outreach has over 15 years of experience in the field of grief and loss. Jenn specializes in community education programs for hospice and hospital staff members, victim advocates as well as other professional and lay caregivers. Jenn has worked directly with professional caregivers and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Jenn is here to offer you support and information about the grieving process as well as connect you with supports within the community. Jenn offers the following invaluable services:
•A listing of support groups in the Denver Metro Area
•Referrals to groups, workshops, retreats, counselors and other resources
•Invitations to holiday memorial programs as well as other community grief education events
•Grief education materials for all ages

We are proud to offer grief support and education at the HeartLight Center located at 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave. A not-for-profit organization founded in 2001, HeartLight Center provides affordable grief support and education for adults in our community who are experiencing the pain and sorrow following the death of a loved one.
Offered in group sessions, the HeartLight Center’s support gives participants insight to gain the strength and peace they need to effectively move forward with their lives. HeartLight also provides education programs for professional and volunteer caregivers in our community who are working with those who are grieving.
We seek to serve our community, both the general public as well as the community of caregivers who deal with those who are dying and their families. Our goal at HeartLight is not to duplicate existing programs that already serve our community, but to listen closely the public and professionals and create the type of programs they need. www.heartlightcenter.org.
